Icebreaker Sets Ferry Free off Canada

zoom A Canadian Coast Guard icebreaker escorted the MV Highlanders ferry and its 190 passengers to Newfoundlands Port Aux Basques, after the vessel had been trapped in ice off Cape Breton for nearly 24 hours, Canadas daily CBC News reports. Just after 8 pm local time Monday the Coast Guard was alerted that a passenger ship became stuck, and sent out the Louis S. St-Laurent icebreaker which arrived on scene the next day.
