Image of the Day: CSCL Globe Squeezing through Hamburg Port zoom 19,100 TEU CSCL Globe, currently the largest container ship in operation, soon to be dethroned by 19,224 TEU MSC Oscar, arrived in the Port of Hamburg as part of its Asia Europe Express service.  The vessel, which weighs as much as 14,500 London buses, is operated by China Shipping Container Lines Co. At 400 meters long, the vessel is the length of four football fields. The maiden voyage of the ship began in November in China. It stopped at ports in Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt, the U.K. and Rotterdam. Its next stops include ports in Germany and Belgium, before it returns to China in February. Image: Kotug
