Intermarine Starts Fleet of the Future Deliveries zoom The US project, breakbulk and heavy lift cargo transporter Intermarine has begun its Fleet of the Future deliveries with the addition and maiden voyage of the 20,000 dwt, 545-foot multi-purpose vessel Industrial Grand. The Industrial Grand features three cranes with a combined lifting capacity of up to 900 metric tons, and is the first of 20 new eco-friendly lifters that will join Intermarine’s core fleet during the next 30 months. The vessel will travel from Shanghai, China, to the US Gulf Coast to deliver a petrochemical processing tower. The cargo delivery includes a 720.5 metric ton lift of 48.6 meters in length which was loaded using vessel’s gear. The Industrial Grand will be joined by her sister vessel, the Industrial Glory, when she enterd the service from the shipyard in May 2015. The Industrial Grand is ideally suited to carry a broad range of cargoes and her features allow her to operate in remote locations around the world, said Frank Fischer, Vice President and Managing Director of Tonnage Procurement, Intermarine.
