Livestock Carrier Greyman Express Joins Its Owner

Vroon China’s Cosco Guangdong Shipyard has delivered the new livestock carrier Greyman Express to the Dutch shipping company Vroon. Greyman Express, which was named at the shipyard on March 18, is the sixth and penultimate vessel in Vroons newbuilding programme. The livestock carrier was launched at the shipyard in September 2015. The vessels, all built in Guangdong, have been designed with a cargo capacity of approximately 4,600 sqm (around 4,000 head of cattle) and a cruising range of about 18,000 nautical miles. The seventh, and last, vessel in the series, the Gudali Express, is expected to join its owners fleet later this year. All vessels are fitted with animal-welfare facilities exceeding Australian (AMSA) regulations and incorporate a bow design that reportedly ensures fuel savings, according to Vroon. Featuring a length of 134.8 meters and a breadth of 19.60 meters, Greyman Express is scheduled to deploy on a medium-term charter with Frontier International Agri, a subsidiary of Australias agricultural company Ruralco.
