LPG Tanker Disappears off Vietnam zoomTeknogas An LPG tanker disappeared in the South China Sea after issuing a distress signal some 200 miles off Vietnam on June 10, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency reports. The last AIS recorded on June 8 placed the 1991-built Teknogas in a position 12 37N 109 34E, some six nautical miles off the coast of Vietnam. The 4.239cbm LPG tanker was en route from Hai Phong, Vietnam to Indonesias Palembang when it disappeared. Vessels in the vicinity were requested to keep a lookout for the Malasia-flagged tanker, and provide assistance if possible. All information regarding the missing tanker should be reported to Singapore port operation control center. Teknogas is managed by Malaysias Silverline Maritime Sdn Bhd. World Maritime News Staff
