Maasvlakte Stevedores Close Ranks

zoom Port of Rotterdam’s container stevedores APMT MVII, APMTR, ECT and RWG have agreed to streamline the so-called inter-terminal container transport on the Maasvlakte, the Port of Rotterdam Authority said in a release.  By using a closed transport route that links the terminals, it will be possible to transport containers without documents from one customs area to another. In principle, it will be possible to deploy different modes of transport for the inter-terminal transport that will take place via this closed route. In the coming years, current employees of APMTR, ECT and Kramer will be deployed to transport containers over the route. At the moment, two new container terminals are going into operation on the Maasvlakte, with large numbers of containers expected to be exchanged between the terminals in the coming years.
