MACS Starts New Europe-USA Service

Amber Lagoon MACS Maritime Carrier GmbH & Co., Hamburg, will start a new multipurpose monthly service between UK/North West Europe and the US Gulf/Mexico US East Coast in January 2015. The service will employ the 34.000 dwt open-hatch/box-shaped MV Amber Lagoon and MV Purple Beach with lifting capacity of up to 110 mts. The new service will accept break bulk, unitized cargo, rolling stock, steel products, project cargo, bulk parcels and containers. The first eastbound sailing from the US Gulf will be MV Amber Lagoon leaving Houston on January 5, 2015. The first westbound voyage  will start loading in Bremen on January 30, 2015. The rotation of the service will be: Altamira (Mexico), New Orleans, Houston, Rotterdam, Immingham, Bremen, Antwerp and Bilbao. Press Release; Image:  Geert van Kesteren/Shipspotting
