Maersk Line Scoops Global Carrier of the Year Award

zoom Danish carrier Maersk Line has been named Global Carrier of the Year at the Containerisation International Awards 2015, for the second time in a row. The company also took home the Shippers’ Choice award, which is voted for by the global container shipping industry. The award comes following one of Maersk Lines most successful periods to date, with a USD 2.3 billion profit for 2014, 55% up on 2013’s result. The awards were collected by Rose Coulson, customer service director at Maersk Line UK and Ireland.  “We had a successful 2014 and these awards are a good way to underline that. It is recognition for the hard work of our employees and the support of our customers and partners throughout the year, and we would also like to thank everyone that voted for us,” said Coulson. The Containerisation International Awards celebrate the container shipping, ports and logistics industries. Award submissions are examined by a select group of judges, who then decide on the winners. In 2015, the categories are: Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Campaign of the Year, Innovation of the Year, Logistics Provider of the Year, Regional Carrier of the Year, Global Carrier of the Year, Terminal Operator of the Year, Port Authority of the Year, Humanitarian Award, Shipper’s Choice Award, Lifetime Achievement Award.
