Maran Tankers Linked to VLCC Order at DSME

zoom Maran Tankers, the Oil Tanker Shipping unit of the Angelicoussis Shipping Group Limited, has been linked to a repeat order at Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) for two Very Large Crude Carriers. The 310,000 DWT VLCCs are each priced at USD 94 million and are expected for delivery in 2017, local media reports. The order is yet to be confirmed by the two parties. Maran Tankers has not yet replied to emails from World Maritime News seeking comment. Maran Tankers already ordered two oil tankers in May featuring 156,000 DWT in capacity also scheduled for delivery in early 2017.The financial terms of the deal had not been disclosed. The Greek tanker owner and operator has six VLCCs on order at DSME scheduled for delivery in 2016. World Maritime News Staff
