Maran Tankers Orders Two More VLCCs from DSME zoom Greece-based oil tanker owner and operator Maran Tankers has confirmed an order for two more Very Large Crude Carriers placed with Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME). The deal, signed November 18, is for two 319,000 DWT VLCCs scheduled for delivery in 2017. According to DSME, these environmentally-friendly vessels will feature the latest fuel-saving high-efficiency engine technology. The VLCCs will have a length of 336m and a width of 60m. The company added that the vessels will be built at Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Geoje Okpo shipyard.
