MS Deutschland Changes Hands

zoom German-registered cruise ship MS Deutschland, operated by Peter Deilmann Cruises has been sold. The buyer is a US company with relevant experience in international cruise business , the operator said. The unnamed company has paid a deposit to the administrator of the transaction, however the balance payment is expected to be paid upon delivery in May. The value of the deal was not revealed. The ship will resume operation under the same name. The new owner will keep a large part of the the crew, the company said. This is a challenging sales process to a close, says Administrator Reinhold Schmid-Sperber. The transaction is expected to be completed until the end of May.
