MV SSG Edward A. Carter Jr. to Support US Army’s Ammunition Prepositioning Program
The U.S. Navy’s Military Sealift Command has awarded Maersk Line, Ltd. from Norfolk, Virginia, a $12,2 modification under a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract to exercise a one-year option period for the time charter of one self-sustaining ship, MV SSG Edward A. Carter Jr.
The vessels is hired to support the U.S. Army’s ammunition prepositioning program.
Work will be performed at sea worldwide, and is expected to be completed by September 2014.
