Navig8 Chemical Adds 2nd Stainless Steel Tanker

Navig8 Chemical Tankers Chemical shipping company Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc. has expanded its fleet with its newest addition, the 25,000 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker Navig8 Sky. The newbuilding was delivered from Japanese shipbuilder Kitanihon Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. Navig8 Sky is the second of six vessels contracted at Kitanihon to be delivered to the company. It is also the second and last vessel to be part financed under the USD 55 million secured loan facility with Credit Suisse AG entered into on June 22, 2016. Navig8 Sky will be entered into and operated in Navig8 Group’s Stainless8 commercial pool. At the end of June, the company took delivery of the first stainless steel chemical tanker, the Navig8 Sirius. Featuring a length of 159 meter and a width of 25 meters, the remaining tanker newbuilds are scheduled to join Navig8 Chemical Tankers’ fleet in 2016 and 2017. The batch of six vessels were ordered in January 2014.
