Nearly 100 Saved in Ferry Accident off Batam zoom All passengers are accounted for after their Indonesia-registered ferry Sea Prince hit a floating object off Batam on November 29. According to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA), the incident occurred in the evening hours in Indonesian waters after the ferry left the Nongsapura ferry terminal for Singapore. At the time of the incident the ferry was carrying a total of 97 passengers, including 51 Singaporeans and 7 crew members. Sea Princes operator, Batamfast, activated two ferries to transfer the passengers from the stranded ferry to the Nongsapura ferry terminal. MPA confirmed that the ferry is in stable condition.
