Norway: Global Maritime Acquires Design Business
The acquisition represents a great opportunity for Global Maritime to build on the strong position of GL Noble Denton’s MOU/OSV design unit in Brevik and at the same time strengthen Global Maritime’s existing offering.
“We are very excited about taking a business like this on board. It fits very well in with our operation and with our plans for further growth”, says CEO of Global Maritime Group, Jan Vatsvåg.
“The announcement of the acquisition was also well received GL Noble Denton’s mobile offshore unit design staff”, adds General Manager of the business, Tor Lønnerød. He continues: “This is seen as a positive development and there has been a good chemistry between both parties from the start. We also believe that by involving senior management through the whole process, we have managed to create a positive attitude to the organizational change. We feel optimistic about the future and about now being part of Global Maritime.”
Trond Reinertsen, Managing Director of Global Maritime AS in Norway believes there is a very good match between the companies’ engineering design competence for mobile offshore units. “The business unit and their staff can go straight into our existing projects and add value as part of our disciplines and competence from day one. We see this as an exciting company to be joining us, with a lot of potential”.
