NYK Orders More Reefers

zoom Tokyo-based Nippon Yusen Kabashiki Kaisha (NYK) has ordered 5,500 40-foot refrigerated (reefer) containers. Delivery of the new units has already commenced. The new order includes 700 Controlled Atmosphere (CA) containers. NYK said that the CA technology regulates not only the temperature within the reefer unit but also the oxygen and carbon dioxide levels. NYK added that the company will continue to expand its refrigerated and frozen ocean cargo sectors.
