NYK Orion Undergoing Repairs Repairs of Panama-flagged containership M/V NYK Orion that suffered engine problems are underway, ocean carrier APL said in a customer advisory on Tuesday. The vessel was headed for Singapore from its last known port Jeddah Anch, according to the latest data from Marine Traffic. As informed, the voyage was suspended due to engine glitches. However, the company did not disclose further details on the type of the engine malfunction. We have been informed by our G6 Alliance partner Nippon Yusen Kaisha (NYK) that after careful inspection by the engine makers, repairs on the NYK Orion have started, APL said. According to APL, the repairs will take 4-6 days, after which the NYK Orion will undergo a Class inspection before she is allowed to resume her voyage. The 2007-built cargo ship is operated by the G6 Alliance between Hapag-Lloyd, NYK Line, OOCL, APL, Hyundai Merchant Marine and MOL. World Maritime News Staff; Image: Port of Hamburg/D. Hasenpusch
