Ocean Discovery Institute STEM Inititiave Needs Helpers!
Ocean Discovery Institute is looking for scientists that can speak with students about their career pathway in marine science (ecology, biology, fisheries, oceanography, etc.) and 'The Maritime Alliance' has agreed to help get the word out. Details of the program are as follows:What: 10-15 minute career talk given to 3rd grade students, then help them explore La Jolla tide pools and share more about your experiences, answer questions, and help students build a relationship with STEM professionals.
Who: Marine science (ecology, biology, fisheries, oceanography, etc.) professionals, Ph.D. candidates, post docs, and graduate students welcome. Multiple speakers needed each day.
When: Feb.4th through March 24th, 2014 (excluding weekends). Field trips are approx. 3 hours and start times vary (9 or 10:30am).
Where: La Jolla Tide Pools, 850 Coast Blvd. La Jolla, CA 92037
