Pilbara Ports Marks Slight Rise in July Throughput Pilbara Ports Australia’s Pilbara Ports Authority (PPA) has delivered a total monthly throughput of 52.9 million tonnes for the month of July, representing an increase of 2% from the same month in 2015. Compared to the June 2016, the ports throughput decreased from 55.9 million tonnes. The countrys Port of Port Hedland saw a monthly throughput of 39 million tonnes, an increase of 9% from the previous year. Iron ore exports increased by 10% from the same month in 2015, reaching 38.7 million tonnes, while imports for the month plunged by 28% to 113,000 tonnes, 44,000 tonnes less than in July of 2015. The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 13.8 million tonnes, a decrease of 1.9 million tonnes or 12% from the same month in 2015. Imports totalled 57,000 tonnes, a decrease of 19,000 tonnes or 25% from the previous year.
