PO Ferries Zeebrugge-Tilbury Freight Volumes Never Higher P&O Ferries Pan-European ferry operator P&O Ferries has seen its freight volumes on the Zeebrugge-Tilbury route increase by 15.5 percent in the second quarter of 2016 as continental exporters capitalized on the Thames ports proximity to London. From April to June, P&O Ferries carried 58,195 freight units between Zeebrugge and Tilbury, up from 50,378 reported in the same quarter in 2015, reaching the highest quarterly total in the nine year history of the route. Continental exporters increasingly see our Zeebrugge-Tilbury route as a fast and reliable way of delivering goods as close as possible to the vital consumer markets in London and the South East of England, Janette Bell, Chief Commercial Officer at P&O Ferries, said. P&O Ferries two ships, Norsky and Norstream, operate on the Zeebrugge-Tilbury route. In 2015, P&O Ferries carried more freight across the English Channel than in any previous year since 2003. The companys ships transported 1.34 million units of freight during the 12-month period an increase of 22 per cent year on year. The ferry operator operates 20 vessels on eight major routes between Britain, France, Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, Holland and Belgium.
