Police Stops Planned Attack on Greek Shipowners
The plans for a bomb attack reportedly scheduled for this weekend were discovered during a police raid in Athens. The police arrested one suspect on terror-related charges, believed to be a member of a far-left militant group.According to the Greek authorities, the main targets of the attack would have been the New Democracy party headquarters in Athens, and various shipowners, including Marinakis, who apart from being Capital Product Chairman, also chairs over Greeces industry federation, as well as Olympiakos, Greeces largest football club.
The raid was reportedly carried out in connection with the arrest of Nikos Maziotis, a fugitive militant who was caught in Athens after a shootout back in July, 2014.
