Port of Milford Haven Acquires Site at Wards Yard Port of Milford Haven The Port of Milford Haven in the UK has completed the acquisition of the site at Wards Yard, Castle Pill, to ensure it is protected for future investment and development. The site is located directly facing the Waterway and could form an extension of Milford Waterfront. However, there are no immediate development plans for the site, according to the port. “The Port of Milford Haven has the capability and the ambition to reinvest along the Waterway and we are always looking for both short and long-term opportunities. We have a lot happening right now, of course, as the exciting ongoing work to develop Milford Waterfront gains momentum, Alec Don, Chief Executive at the Port of Milford Haven, said, adding that the port has already invested in new lock gates and fishing infrastructure. A number of planning applications have been submitted recently and the Port is looking forward to an exciting 2017 with more development initiatives in the pipeline,” Don added. The Port of Milford Haven is said to be the UK’s top energy port and Wales’ busiest port, handling around 20% of Britain’s seaborne trade in oil and gas.
