Port of Taichung Adds Cruise Ship Calls zoomQuantum of the Seas Taiwans Port of Taichung will se an all-time-high 38 cruise ship calls in 2015 season, with the Chinese Taishan and the Quantum of the Seas making their maiden visits to the port on April 25 and September 2, the port operator Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC) reports. The Chinese Taishan, owned by Bohai Ferry Company,  Hong Kong, weighs in at 24.5 thousand dwt and accommodates up to 1,000 passengers traveling along the routes linking Taiwan, China and Hong Kong. The Quantum of the Seas is currently the largest-capacity cruise ship sailing the Taiwan-China-Hong Kong circuit. This 167.8 thousand DWT, 4,100+ passenger Royal Caribbean Cruises vessel was launched in 2014.
