Quantum Scorpio Box Returns for More at SHI zoomSHI Geoje Shipyard Quantum Scorpio Box has exercised options at South Korean shipbuilder Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) for construction of three additional 19,200 TEU containerships.  The price tag for the three giant containerships amounts to USD 450 million, USD 150 million per each vessel. The order brings Scopios newbuilding orderbook at the South Korean yard to six 19,200-teu vessels. The first three mega-ships ordered in summer 2014 are slated for delivery in mid-2016. The initial newbuilding trio has been hired by Mediterranean Shipping Co on a 15-year bareboat charter. World Maritime News Staff .
