Report: Golden Ocean to Sell 7-Year-Old Capesize
zoomIllustration; Image Courtesy: GOGL Nasdaq-listed dry bulk shipping company Golden Ocean Group Limited has reached an agreement to sell its Capesize vessel Golden Opus, according to VesselsValue. Under the deal, concluded with an undisclosed buyer on June 14, the company is reportedly selling its 2010-built ship for a price of USD 28.2 million, slightly over the bulkers current market value of USD 27.5 million. World Martime News contacted Golden Ocean Group for more details on the transaction, however, the company is yet to reply. Built by the South Korean shipbuilder STX Offshore, Golden Opus features a length of 292 meters and a width of 45 meters. The 180,700 dwt bulker is part of Golden Ocean Groups fleet of 62 bulk carriers, which in total features around 9 million dwt. The company has seven newbuildings on order, one of which is scheduled to join its fleet in 2017, while the remaining ships would be delivered during 2018. World Maritime News Staff
