Rio Tinto Charters Diana Capesize Pair

zoom NYSE-listed dry bulk carrier Diana Shipping has chartered out two Capesizes, MV Semirio and MV Sideris GS, to Rio Tinto Shipping (Asia). The gross charter rate for the 174,261 dwt, 2007-built MV Semirio is USD 10,000 per day for a period of minimum twelve months to maximum sixteen months. The charter is expected to commence on February 20, 2015. The 174,186 dwt, 2006-built MS Sideris GS has also been chartered out for a daily rate of USD 10,000, for a period of minimum ten months to maximum fourteen months. This charter is expected to start on February 23, 2015. The new charters are anticipated to generate approximately USD 6.6 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charters.
