Scorpio Tankers Bags a Second-Hand

zoom NYSE-listed tanker operator Scorpio Tankers has entered into an agreement to purchase one 2014-built MR product tanker from an unrelated third party for around USD 37.1 million. The tanker was built at SPP Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. of South Korea, and is expected to be delivered to Scorpio Tankers in August 2015. The company currently owns 76 tankers with an average age of one year, and time charters-in 17 product tankers. Scorpio has also contracted for eight newbuilding product tankers (one MR and seven LR2), four of which are expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2015 and the remaining four vessels throughout 2016.
