Seaenergy Takes First of Seven Secondhand Bulkers

zoom Greek dry bulk specialist Seanergy Maritime Holdings has taken delivery of the first of seven second hand bulkers the company had arranged to buy for around USD 183 million in total back in August. The first dry bulk carrier in the series is the 170,024 dwt Capesize, which has been renamed M/V Premiership. M/V Premiership was built in 2010 by South Koreas Sungdong SB and has been employed in the spot market. Seaenergy financed the purchase through a senior secured loan agreement and through a funding arrangement with its sponsor. The acquisition of the remaining vessels is expected to be completed by November 30, 2015. After the delivery of the remaining six vessels, Seaenergy will have a fleet of a total of eight dry bulk carriers, six Capesizes and two Supramaxes, with a combined cargo carrying capacity of approximately 1,145,553 dwt and an average fleet age of about 7.1 years.
