Seaspan Fixes Fourth 14,000 TEU Newbuilding to Yang Ming

zoom The NYSE-listed Seaspan Corporation has accepted delivery of a 14,000 TEU container ship, the YM Witness, which will immediately start a ten-year, fixed-rate time charter with the Taiwanese container line Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp. The new container ship was constructed at South Koreas Hyundai Heavy Industries, and is Seaspans fourth 14,000 TEU SAVER design boxship, and fifth delivery in 2015. Yang Ming may extend the charter for up to an additional two years. The ship is the fourth of a total of eight 14, 000 TEU SAVER design vessels to be chartered by Seaspan to Yang Ming. The delivery of the YM Witness expands Seaspans operating fleet to 82 vessels.
