Sener to Unveil Its LNG Bunkering Vessel Design

zoomRendering; Image Courtesy: SENER Spanish engineering and construction company Sener said that it will unveil its new design for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel design at the LNG Bunkering Summit 2017 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The company will present the design, which comes in two ship versions. The first features a bunkering capacity of 8,000 m3, is 114.80 meters long and 20.40 meters wide. It has a maximum continuous rating (MCR) of 6,000 kW, and carries two bunkering tanks. Featuring a length of 85.35 meters and a breadth of 82.10 m, the second supply vessel has a capacity of 4,000 m3 length. With an MCR of 4,000 kW, it also carries two bunkering tanks. Sener embarked upon a research project with a double purpose to design an LNG-powered vessel, and to design a unit to supply these LNG-powered vessels with fuel. The use of LNG as a fuel significantly reduces carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and almost completely eliminates sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrous oxide (NOx), and other polluting particles. As such, it offers the perfect solution for ships that are more respectful towards the environment, the company said.
