Star Zeta Refloated after Grounding on Parana River

Star Bulk Carriers The Supramax bulk carrier Star Zeta was refloated from its grounding site on the Parana River near San Pedro Port, according to AIS data provided by Marine Traffic. The 53,000 dwt vessel ran into trouble in the early morning hours of October 4 during its downriver navigation from the port of San Lorenzo, Argentina. Maritime agency NABSA earlier said that the incident obstructed the upriver and downriver navigation. Tugboats Ranquel and Yagan were sent to assist with the refloating manoeuvers. Currently underway using engine, the ship departed San Lorenzo only hours prior to the incident. AIS data shows that Star Zeta is on its way to the South African port of Cape Town, where it is scheduled to arrive on October 17.
