Storm Grounds Car Carrier off Busan, Korea

Shipspotting/Lappino The Ocean Tango car carrier ran aground on April 17th during a storm while docked at Yeong-gu area in Busan, South Korea, Yonhap news agency reports. As informed, the grounding caused the South Korean ships fuel tanks to rupture and spill an undisclosed amount of fuel. The local coast guard received a report on the grounding on Sunday and was sent to the scene to evacuate four crew members of the ship and its captain, who were stranded on board, Yonhap informed. The coast guard added that the ship was not carrying a substantial car cargo. There were no injuries reported. Efforts on spill containment are reportedly underway, however the activities are said to be hampered by inclement weather conditions.
