Strike Cripples Buenaventura Port

zoomPort of Buenaventura Cabotage shipowners staged a 10-hour blockade of the El Pinal bridge yesterday morning, the only link connecting the Port of Buenaventura with Colombias mainland, GAC reports. The strike started in protest at the Colombian governments non-fulfillment of promises regarding fuel subsidies. The blockage of the El Pinal Bridge caused delays on the transportation of goods to and from Buenaventura, as well as delays in the operation of vessels.
