Tanker Bodil Knutsen Gets Charter Extension from Statoil

KNOT Offshore Partners LP The 2011-built crude oil/shuttle tanker Bodil Knutsen will continue working for Norwegian oil company Statoil ASA for two more years, according to the vessels owner, the UK-based shuttle tanker operator KNOT Offshore Partners. Namely, the parties exercised an option to extend the ships time charter contract from May 2017 to May 2019. Additionally, the partnership granted the oil major new five one-year options, in connection with the early declaration by the company of these optional years for the vessel. The 157,600 dwt tanker started working for Statoil upon delivery, initially under a five year time charter contract, according to data provided by VesselsValue. Built by South Koreas Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering, the vessel, which features a length of 285 meters and a width of 50 meters, has a capacity of 171,332 m3. KNOT Offshore Partners owns, operates and acquires shuttle tankers under long-term charters in the offshore oil production regions of the North Sea and Brazil.
