Three Injured in Cargo Ship Fire

zoom A fire broke out on Saturday on board an Indonesia-flagged general cargo ship while docked in Surabaya, Indonesia injuring three people. The fire on board the 2005-built MV Mentari Pratama, operated by liner company Mentari Sejata Perkasa, is believed to had been caused by a gas cylinder explosion during welding works in a repair yard. According to local media reports, the three workers sustained burns while trying to put out the fire.  As informed, the three of them have been transferred to a hospital in Tanjung Perak. The fire was extinguished by four firefighting teams within an hour. The ship was carrying a cargo of 28 containers that were not damaged in the fire, the media reported.
