Toho Gas Books More American LNG

zoom Japans gas supplier Toho Gas has signed a Heads of Agreement with a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation to buy around 200,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) a year from the US Cameron LNG Project for a period of 20 years starting in 2018. The contract signed with Diamond Gas International is Tohos second one for LNG from the Cameron Project, following the sale and purchase agreement signed in January 2014 with Mitsui & Co. The two contracts will see Toho receive 500,000 tons of LNG from the Cameron Project annually. Diamond Gas has agreed to arrange transportation for the three yearly shipments from the Cameron LNG to Tohos receiving terminals in Japan. The destination for the three annual cargoes can be changed if Diamond Gas agrees in advance. Cameron LNG LLC., a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, plans to construct LNG liquefaction facilities in Cameron, Louisiana, with an overall capacity of 12 million tons per annum, to liquefy the US natural gas, including shale gas, and to export it as LNG. Mitsubishi and Mitsui both have a 16.6% stake in the Cameron LNG Project.
