Turk Loydu to Certify Panama-Flagged Ships

Turk Loydu The Panama Maritime Authority has authorized Turkish classification society Turk Loydu to conduct survey and certification activities for Panama-flagged ships. The two parties signed an authorization transfer protocol in Istanbul on November 7, 2017. In accordance with the signed authorization, Turk Loydu, as a recognized organization, will be able to issue classification certificates and carry out statutory surveys and certification services for Panama-flagged vessels. During the signing ceremony, Fernando Solorzano, Panama Maritime Authority Merchant Marine Directorate General Manager, expressed his hope that the authorization of Turk Loydu will further increase the cooperation between the two maritime nations. The Panama Registry is in charge of managing the worlds largest ship registry, with over 8,000 registered vessels which accounts for 18% of the world fleet. Türk Loydu is a classification society and a conformity assessment body performing classification and statutory services, inspection, certification and notified bodies activities. In October, Turkey extended and renewed Turk Loydus authorization for the survey and certification activities on Turkish-flagged ships.
