Turkey: Two Bodies of Sunken Vessels Crew Found

Turkish Coast Guard The bodies of two crewmembers of the sunken cargo ship Bilal Bal have been retrieved from the ships wreck, according to a statement released by the Turkish Coast Guard. The authorities informed that divers managed to located the bodies on November 3 in the wreck which lies in a water depth of 88 meters. Bilal Bal, which was crewed by ten Turkish Turkish seafarers, sank some seven nautical miles off the coast of Istanbul shortly after sending out a distress signal in the morning hours of November 1. Relevant authorities are still looking for the remaining eight seafarers who were also reported as missing after the incident. At the time, the 1974-built vessel was sailing from Turkeys port of Gemlik to the port of Ereğli, carrying a cargo of cast iron. The circumstances which led to the sinking are still unknown.
