Two Cargo Ships Collide Off Greece, Eight Missing
The cargo vessel ‘Pirireis’ sank after colliding with another freighter ConSouth, this morning, some 8 nautical miles south-west of Methoni, Peloponnese, Reuters reports.
Bodies of two crew members were recovered by the Greek coast guard while eight crew members from the Cook Islands flagged vessel ‘Pirireis’ are missing.
The other vessel, ConSouth, sailing under the flag of Antigua-Barbuda suffered minor damage, and the entire crew of the vessel is safe.
