Update: Shells Curlew FPSO Isolated from Fulmar Gas Line

zoomCurlew FPSO The deep sea divers from the Bibby Polaris Dive Support Vessel (DSV) completed the subsea work with the ROVs to further isolate the Curlew FPSO from the Fulmar gas line where a gas leak was detected late Monday by oil major Shell. The leak happened at subsea infrastructure several hundred meters from the FPSO vessel late Monday night (2300hrs). The FPSO is connected to the Fulmar Gas Line exporting gas to the St Fergus terminal.  The subsea work was completed last night and, as a result, gas export via the Fulmar pipeline to the St Fergus gas plant restarted early this morning, Shell spokesperson told World Maritime News. An investigation into the leak has been launched. Despite announced evacuation of the crew, bad weather delayed the operation. Shell said that all personnel were safe and accounted for and that the relevant authorities had been informed. Some 36 members of the essential staff are expected to remain on board during investigation, writes the Evening Press. World Maritime News Staff
