Wan Hai Sets Up Outpost in Peru zoom Taiwanese container carrier Wan Hai Lines and Perus Transtotal Agencia Maritima have recently set up a joint venture company to run Wan Hais shipping-related operations in South America. The joint venture company, Wan Hai Lines Peru S.A.C., is headquartered in Perus capital Lima, and has since August 01 officially run shipping related operations for the carrier, aiming to provide more direct and efficient services for its South American customers. Peru not only connects Asia, Brazil and Chile but is also a leading economic entity in the Latin America market, Wan Hai says. At the same time, it is one of the largest fishery products exporting countries with many other natural resources such as crude oil and natural gas. “We do believe that this move will reflect a closer knit connection between South America, Taiwan and the rest of the Far East,” said Vice Chairman of Wan Hai Randy Chen during the grand opening party held on August 12 in Lima.
