YM Express Joins Yang Mings Fleet

zoomIllustration Taiwanese shipping company Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation has taken delivery of  YM Express, a 4,662 TEU full-container vessel built by compatriot CSBC CORP. YM Express is the fifth of five eco-friendly 4,662 TEU full-container vessels built for Yang Ming by CSBC CORP. The new ship is 259 meters long, 37.3 meters wide and has 400 reefer plugs and a draft of 12.8 meters. The vessel can cruise at a speed up to 22.9 knots.     Yang Ming strives not only for environmental protection but also for lowering the average age of its ships. The new generation ships incur lower operational costs and consume energy more efficiently, the company said. YM Express is to be deployed in the CPX Service (China-Pakistan Express ). The ships ports of call will include: Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Karachi, Mundra, Port Kelang, Singapore, Hong Kong. The ship, flying the Liberian flag, is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage on 21st of May, starting its round-trip from Shanghai.
