Zeaborn Takes Carisbrookes MPP Fleet under Its Wing

Carisbrooke Germany-based shipping company Zeaborn Chartering is taking over the management of 17 multipurpose vessels (MPP) owned by UK shipowner and management company Carisbrooke, effective from 1 April 2016 The strategic cooperation between the duo encompasses Carisbrookes 12,900 dwt vessels as well as the 8,500 and 10,000 Vectis types. Carisbrooke says that whilst Zeaborn is focused on providing the break bulk and multi-purpose project expertise, it will continue to support the MPP fleet with its bulk carrier expertise. “This is an exciting development during a challenging time for the industry. We are looking forward to maximising earnings for the shipowners through our synergies with Carisbrooke, and to providing value added solutions to cargo customers through our heavy lift and project cargo expertise,” says Nicki Schumacher, Chartering Director of Zeaborn. Carisbrooke owns and operates a fleet of over 65 dry cargo and multi-purpose vessels ranging from 5,000 to 13,400 dwt.
