Immediate position available in Houston TX, for an intermediate level electrical engineer, with a BS degree, or equivalent Diploma in Electrical Engineering, majoring in power systems and/or large electrical machinery.

Principal duties

Perform calculations;
Perform technical estimations;
Produce drawings;
Write reports, specifications and other design documentation;
Estimate own tiem budgets and schedules for the conduct of tasks;
Track, analyze and report on the progression of the tasks assigned;
Provide guidance to and review the work produced by junior personnel;
Take the lead role for small projects assigned by the Project Manager;
Attend meetings with client(s) and make presentations;
Job involves some travel.

Understand some of the basics to perform Load Analyses;
Understand the basics to perform Short Circuit Analyses with the aid of commercial software tools;
Understanding the basics to perform Protection Coordination Studies;
Use of AutoCAD for the preparation of Single Line Diagrams, Lighting Arrangement drawings, Cable Routing Arrangements, etc;
Use of MS Excel for the preparation of tables and charts;
Competency with MS Word and use of basic MS Windows functions in cluding Outlook;
Familiarity with IEEE standards, MIL standards, IEC stndards, ABS rules, Lloyd's rules is an asset but not mandatory.

A Bachelor's degree, or equivalent Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Minimum five years' experience in the design of electrical systems on board ships and/or offshore platforms.
Equivalent experience with industrial installations or power utility will be considered.
General Requirements

Ability to work independently or in a large project team.
Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
US Residency/Citizenship preferred.
