ARA Shipmanagement B.V.

In the early 90's an enthusiastic partnership founded ARA Group, a privately owned shipping & chartering group of companies based in Werkendam, The Netherlands. Ever since ARA has developed a highly successful business and has become a leading player.

Over the last decades not only has ARA gained a wealth of experience as a private shipowner of river-barges, but also as operator and manager of both owned and chartered river-barges. In the beginning of the year 2000
ARA started its own river-barge Chartering department. By the end of 2004 ARA further grew to maritime activities. ARA acquired the mv “ARA Zeebrugge”, a gearless container/general cargo ocean going vessel. After a successful start of operating the “ARA Zeebrugge”, ARA purchased her sistership, the mv “ARA Felixstowe”. Thereafter ARA took delivery of a third vessel, the mv “ARA Atlantis”, a gearless container ship. Further growth of the fleet is foreseen in the near future.

Today ARA takes care of the daily management of her own, privately owned fleet, a modern fleet of multi-purpose and container vessels which can be deployed world-wide. The technical, commercial and operational management is all done in house, which makes the organization structure, compact, flexible and ready for growth.
