Bluewater Marine Management Ltd was established on 1st January 2000, following a management buy-out of Crescent RoRo Ltd, from the parent group Crescent Plc. Separate companies have been formed within the group to ensure that our clients have full confidence that any trading or financial difficulty of one ship owner, cannot impact on another. Bluewater Ship Management Ltd is one such company.
Over the years we have gained very considerable experience in managing a diverse fleet under a variety of flag states and crew nationalities, but our particular expertise is the management of both passenger and freight RoRo vessels. At present we manage a fleet of 10 Freight RoRo vessels operating a daily service, between Istanbul and Trieste, for the leading Turkish RoRo Owner /Operator. Our Safety Management System was established in the Turkish fleet in 1996 and in 1997 we obtained ISM Certification for the entire fleet - 5 years before it became mandatory for this class of vessel.
In November 1999 our Turkish client commenced a programme of building new freight RoRo vessels with the German shipyard, Flensburger Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG), Flensburg. We were naturally delighted when Bluewater were awarded the ship management and new building contract of the new tonnage. So far, construction of 10 vessels has taken place under the supervision of our Technical Department with a further ship due for delivery in 2010.
The ships were designed by FSG who, combined with a significant amount of practical input from the experienced team at Bluewater, produced award winning vessels.
