Dutch Swiss Marine is an independent consulting company, providing specialized consulting & bespoke ship management services for the expedition cruise, river cruise and mega-yacht industry. Our expertise and main focus is to assist clients in the geographic markets of SE Asia and Europe. The company was founded in 2015, by Mr. B. Maaswinkel, who holds a Bachelor degree (B.Sc./B.Eng.) in ‘Maritime Operations’ from the Nautical University of Amsterdam and has over 18 years professional experience in the commercial shipping, mega-yacht, ocean cruise and river cruise industry.

Licensed as a ‘marine integrated officer’ he started his career as a deck and engineering officer on various types of ships (including large ocean cruise liners and container ships), sailing all the world’s oceans. After his sailing career, he worked in various key management positions ashore for well-known international shipping, mega-yacht and river cruise companies. The founder has a long experience in the marine industry and has gained a wealth of knowledge about the industry’s best practices, technical innovations and international maritime regulations.

He is also a qualified yacht surveyor (QI) for the Marshall Islands Registry and a skilled and experienced ISM/ISPS/MLC auditor. Mr. Maaswinkel is also the founder of an associate company in Myanmar called ‘Dutch Swiss Marine (Myanmar) Ltd’. Dutch Swiss Marine (Myanmar) specializes in providing consulting and ship management services for the growing luxury river cruise industry in SE Asia and providing crew manning services for the worldwide maritime shipping industry. Dutch Swiss Marine is therefore ‘THE’ integrated partner to assist with providing a safe, sustainable and compliant cruise environment for all stakeholders in the cruise industry, with emphasis placed on quality, safety, health, environmental protection and technical reliability.

CONSULTING RATES & PRIVACY

Our consulting services and rates are clear and transparent; based on 8-hour working days and invoiced on “actual days worked per project”. Long term management consulting services can be provided against a reduced fixed monthly fee. All information between Dutch Swiss Marine and the Client shall be kept strictly confidential and shall not be disclosed to any other parties.
