The Greatship Group is owned by The Great Eastern Shipping Company Limited (G E Shipping) and is a premier offshore service provider to operators in the energy exploration and production domain globally and in India. The Greatship Group commenced business operations in 2006 and has offices in Mumbai and Singapore. Greatship owns and operates a comprehensive range of new generation, technologically advanced vessels and drilling rigs with an average age of approximately three years. Greatship operates in two main business lines i.e. Offshore Logistics and Drilling Services and has been triply accredited under ISO 9001:2008, ISO14001:2004 and OHSAS 18001:2007.

The Greatship Group started life in 2006 with an initial purchase of two Norwegian-built mid-size platform supply vessels. Since then the group has grown rapidly and currently owns a fleet of 4 jack-up rigs and about 20 offshore boats, representing a combined investment of more than a billion dollars to date.

The successful drilling campaigns executed by our drilling rigs, with practically nil breakdown, have created a strong, positive impression of our drilling services with our existing clients. Our modern, DP boats, manned by our competent crew and backed by capable shore operations, have created a base of satisfied clientele; whether oil majors, IOCs or NOCs. The versatile specifications of these units have been utilised to carry out a wide range of operations such as straight supply and anchor handling, well stimulation, ROV support and subsea work.

While it has grown in size, the group has also expanded its reach across the world. Over the years, Greatship has created a footprint in the western markets of Brazil, Mexico and North Sea, served clients on the African continent, and build strong positions in the eastern hemisphere with work carried out in the Middle East, India, East Asia and Australia. The company has offices in India and Singapore and employs multiple nationalities, be it on shore or offshore.

The Greatship Group traces its lineage to the Great Eastern Shipping Company, a veritable institution in the global shipping industry with a presence stretching back to 1948. As such the Greatship Group combines the vitality and ambition of its young organisation with the wisdom and fine maritime lineage derived from its parent.

Greatship (India) Limited is a 100% owned subsidiary of GE Shipping and its offices in Mumbai are the corporate headquarters of the Greatship Group.

All the offshore businesses of the Greatship Group are ultimately under, or a part of, Greatship (India) Limited (GIL).

GIL owns and operates all the Indian-flagged vessels and rigs within the group, while marketing and providing full operational support to its rigs operating in India.
