With effect from October 1st, 2000 the business activities of Montan Shipping GmbH were taken over by Peter W. Lampke GmbH & Co. KG and are continued as Montan Shipping GmbH & Co. KG. The PWL-group is an owner-run enterprise alliance located in Hamburg, Bremen, Bremerhaven and lately Antwerp that has been active in shipping and logistics for more than 35 years.

In order to compromise the co-operation of the two companies Montan Shipping GmbH & Co. KG has moved to the PWL-group's Hamburg premises at the following address:

Montan Shipping mainly acts as chartering agent/broker for various national and international industrial clients. The company's most important activities are world-wide chartering on the dry cargo sector, all agency matters at the ports of Hamburg and Stade and via subagents at all other German ports as well as stevedoring/cargo handling of bulk cargoes at Hamburg.

With its excellent connections to German and foreign owners the company, furthermore, is actively involved in the scope of competitive chartering. Montan Shipping handles all kinds of bulk materials including bauxite, aluminium, coal, petroleum coke, fertilizers, ore, concentrates, pig iron, grain and steel products. Cargo sizes vary from coastal trading up to Panamax/Cape size.
