Key Milestones
2004 and earlier
MSI was formerly the Fleet Management Division of IMC Group with 60 ships under management.
2005 IMC joint ventured with V.Ships to form V.Ships (Asia) MSI Pte. Ltd.
Vessels under management increased to more than 80 ships.
2006
Ship Management branch established in China (initially in Shanghai and moved to Qingdao in 2009) to serve the Chinese Owners.
2007 MSI separated from V.Ships and MSI Ship Management Pte. Ltd. was established.
MSI started management of VLCC.
2009
MSI started management of VLOCs after their conversion from VLCCs (supervised by IMC Shipping Services) was completed.
2012 MSI started management of the world’s largest iron ore transshipper at Subic Bay, Philippines. This was after the conversion from VLOC to the Floating Terminal Station (FTS) supervised by IMC Shipping Services.
Vessels under management surpassed 100 ships with more than 10 vessels managed by MSI Qingdao.
2013
MSI will manage the second iron ore transhipper once conversion is completed.
